The School of Nursing is a unit of the St. Joseph's Hospital, Choondal, under the auspices of CMC Nirmala Province Thrissur.

 It was established in 1st February 1978 and is the 3rd nursing school in Thrissur district with a primary intake of 15 students under the principal ship of Sr. Jose Mary CMC.

 The nursing school offered 3 year programme of General Nursing and Midwifery with the recognition of INC & KNC. Since then the school is ever growing in its strength, size and academic quality. The present intake is 50 students per annum and offers a 3 years programme of General Nursing & Midwifery under the recognition of INC & KNC.

In the year 2003, we celebrated the Silver Jubilee of our school and Blessing of Grotto done. On March 19th 2012 The School of Nursing was shifted to the new double storey building blessed by Fr. Sebastian Nediyani VC. The new building is furnished with all the facilities. We have Chavara hostel with all facilities. Hostel day is January 3rd, feast of Chavara Kuriakose Elias. Now 37th batch students are studying in this school
